The bow section during construction. The metal rubbing strakes have yet to be fixed to the three walnut bedding strakes, and the heads of the double frame (frame no 3) will be shortened. Above the three strakes can be seen the decorative groove which runs back to the registration number, and which is painted white on the port side. The small angled cut-off at the very top of the stem timber was not typical, but was common to all boats built by William Macintosh at Buckie. |
